1. Introduction -Includes the thesis -Thesis: Humans have had a huge negative impact on the planet that has affected the biodiversity of many species of plants and animals, especially within the oceans. It can be fixed with collective effort; otherwise, it may be better for the planet to not have humans at all. 2. Body 1: -Topic: Things humans have developed over time that has influenced the environment. -Topic sentence: Humans, just like every other organism, started out foraging for food without the use of tools. -Example: Talk in depth about fishing boats, fishing rods, and industry fishing. -Subclaim: How removing vast quantities of species in the ocean can impact the environment. -Include counterclaim about Charles Darwin of natural selection. 2: -Topic: How Burning fossil fuels is warming the ocean -Topic sentence: Fossil fuels have been a dominant source of energy for the human race for some time now and the consequences are beginning to show around the globe, but especially in the oceans.

BioScience , vol. 63, no. 5, 2013, pp. 322- -Example: Talk in depth about the science behind how CO 2 warms the environment. -Subclaim: Talk about the acidification of the oceans and what contributes to it. 3: -Topic: Talk about the patterns of warming found throughout history in comparison to modern day. -Topic sentence: Modern day techniques in science have discovered many interesting patterns about the temperature of the globe and the impacts it has had on the environment. -Source I can use: Brown, S. Global change biology , vol. 28, no. 19, 2022, pp. 5849- -Example: relate this to specific regions (such as the arctic) that have been hit hard by global warming. -Can include counter claim about how warming has happened in the past. 3. Conclusion: -Topic: Follow up on my thesis and reiterate my points of evidence. -Possibly: The globe is headed down a path of extreme turmoil. We have made excellent progress up to this point and only need a little bit more of a push to save what’s
left of our planet. The patterns are there and we can’t deny it… we must band together… the planet would be better without humans otherwise.
