One of my ancestors came to America on the Mayflower. The Mayflower was the ship that brought the first pilgrims to America from England. The pilgrims were deeply religious and placed a lot of importance on self- control and sacrifice. The pilgrims' Protestant beliefs have greatly influenced American culture. American culture greatly values independence, hard work, and individualism thanks to the influence of the pilgrims. However, initially they were very close-minded and prejudiced. They suppressed, discriminated, and even eliminated cultures that did not share their views. I think some parts of American culture show the same prejudice and suspicion toward other cultures even now. Hide Sample Answer Self-Evaluation How did you do?
