of the title “the golden age.” Explain what makes these developments important and
valuable.

The mathematics, literature, and science developments in Indian civilization make this ero worthy of the

inventing the concept of zero, calculating the valua of pi, and creating a number system. The paintings and

Part B
Discuss the ways the Gupta dynasty influenced the development of religion in India. What
were some of the results of this influence?
Answer:
The Gupta dynasty influnced the development of religion by promoting Hindusim. The leaders of the
group ordered that temples were built, promoted Hindu rituals and traditions, and taught students Hindu
writings in school. The spread of Hinduism caused Buddhism to disappear from India all together. The
spread of Hindusim also caused the already male-dominated society to increase and leave the women with
fewer rights and privileges.

My family has a very long history in the United States. One of my ancestors came to America
on the Mayflower. The Mayflower was the ship that brought the first pilgrims to America
from England. The pilgrims were deeply religious and placed a lot of importance on self-
control and sacrifice. The pilgrims' Protestant beliefs have greatly influenced American
culture. American culture greatly values independence, hard work, and individualism thanks
to the influence of the pilgrims. However, initially they were very close-minded and
prejudiced. They suppressed, discriminated, and even eliminated cultures that did not share
their views. I think some parts of American culture show the same prejudice and suspicion
toward other cultures even now.
