Why I was Attracted to this Work and its Two Noteworthy Characteristics
ART HISTORY GALLERY: NEOCLASSICISM AND ROMANTICISM
3
I selected this piece of art because it reminds me of a very famous revolutionary leader's martyrdom. This art's unique characteristic is that it is an idealized piece of art that depicts the radical journalist's life and times who played a key role in the French Revolution (
Tadjibayev et al., 2020). I also selected it because it commemorates a personable hero and the fact that it was intended to capture more than the horrific martyrdom of the French revolutionary leader (LeMieux et al., n.d). Based on a careful examination of this piece of art, the process and components of art appreciation depict a sense for a realistic impression in the painting. The artist was clear from the start that the artist intended to give a methodical construction of the victim’s martyrdom. This process of art appreciation gives the art a striking set up that is now known as an "awful beautiful lie."
