Allendar Journal Assignment II
1.
Allender states we are called to reveal God through the themes that have been
woven in our hearts. What themes and patterns from your life are currently influencing?
what you know about your calling?
In some cases, God allows you to draw your limits around the ways in which you think
you should serve before putting those bounds on you. In my life, there has been an odd pattern
that has emerged. This will be the last time I deal with children," I recall thinking to myself. I
cemented my determination to never again deal with children with special needs after that
experience. A special needs children's therapist job looked to be the answer to my prayers.
However, this has been the norm for the previous few decades. Speaking with a coworker about
all of the universities I was contemplating for my master's program brought back memories.
"Have you thought about Liberty University?" she said after I had reeled off a few names in
response to her question about Liberty University. I declined, citing that I've spent most of my
life in Christian institutions. Given my prior academic experiences, I'm not sure whether Liberty
Campus was the right fit. My intensives have included multiple cups of tea from Liberty, which
is odd given the program's subject matter. The way God works is that he will drive you into
regions you wouldn't want to go in order to help you grow in faith and uncover your destiny
(Smith, 2019).

Allender writes, “Coming to love your own life requires you to believe that the past
was God’s will…” What is your reaction (feelings) to this statement?
3
To me, that makes logic. I wholeheartedly agree with that statement. I can see how
having a very fortunate history makes that phrase easier for me to express than for others who
have had a complicated past, but it still holds for me and in my life (Allender, 2009).
What are events from your past easy to see as God's will?
Well, I believe it would be simple to regard practically everything that has happened in
my life as God's will. God's grace has always been there in my life. I was born into a Christian
family and nurtured by God-fearing parents. My family gave me unwavering affection, and even
when we had disagreements, it was clear that our love for each other was unwavering. We all
went to church each week studied the Bible regularly. I went to a private Christian school where
I was acquainted with so much of God's marvelous side and formed wonderful friendships with
many people. I knew precisely what I wanted to do when I went to college. I felt I was meant to
be a counselor, and I was eager to start. God provided an opportunity for me in psychology once
I had my degree. I jumped right in and started learning experience. God supplied a residence and
a job in the exact location when I was eventually ready to return home and start graduate school
(Wilson, 2016). It's simply seeing how God has sculpted and set out my life.
Which events are a struggle to accept as God’s will?
There are not any to be identified. God, I think, has been kind to me. I believe everything
that has happened in my life has resulted from divine providence.
