Chapter 9.3, Problem 4CC
Summary Introduction
To identify:
The result of given experiment, if it is performed with cancer cell with reference to Figure 9.17 “The effect of platelet-derived growth factor (PCGF) on cell division”, in the textbook.
Introduction:
Cancer is term that is characterized by mutations that disrupt the normal cell growth mechanism and produce potentially malignant cell. That can invades and spread in surrounding tissues throughout the body.
As normal cells have the property of contact inhibition, so they are different from cancerous cells. A normal cell in comparison to cancer cell shows density dependent cell proliferation.

Question:
Explain how a natural scientist would collect evidence to determine whether your hypothesis is supported. In other words, what would the next steps be if a natural scientist were to test or investigate your hypothesis?
BI
Genetic engineering has enabled researchers to gain a greater understanding of the disease and develop potential treatments, as well as identify genetic biomarkers and explore novel therapeutic approaches. It is likely to become an increasingly important tool for the advancement of Alzheimer's research.

His research was hailed as a breakthrough for people affected by degenerative diseases, because stem cells may be used to repair a persons own damaged tissues. Hwang published his results in a peer-reviewed journal. In 2006, the journal retracted his paper after other scientists discovered that Hwangs group had faked their data. Does the incident show that results of scientific studies cannot be trusted?
