Introduction:
The conjugation depends on a plasmid or DNA element in the bacterial species. This plasmid is present in the donor cell and absent in the recipient cell. The plasmid is termed as F (fertility factor) in the E. coli. The F+ is the term used for cells that consists of F factor and F- is the term used for the cells that lacks the F factor.
