To find: The way to use the parabola in television events and explain the reason why a televised sporting event filmed with a parabola microphone is better than a televised sporting event filmed with a standard microphone.

Answer to Problem 40HP
Parabolas are used in parabolic microphones and also spotlights. Parabolic microphones are better than standard microphones when they are used to hear the noises, sounds and expletives made by the players.
Explanation of Solution
Parabolas are used in parabolic microphones and also spotlights. Parabolic microphones are better than standard microphones when they are used to hear the noises, sounds and expletives made by the players. A normal microphone would not be able to hear those things due to crowd noise. A parabolic mic is able to hear only from the direction it is pointed at. Other sounds will bounce off away from the focus.
