Concept explainers
Interpretation :
The similarity between the steps of solving a stoichiometry to be similar to a method that could be used in a supermarket to determine the two products that would be the best buy must be shown.
Concept Introduction :
A stoichiometry problem deals with the finding of amounts of reactant and product using a balanced chemical equation.

Answer to Problem 3RQ
Steps of stoichiometry problem are given below:
Balanced chemical equation must be written.
All the amounts must be converted to moles.
Mole ratios must be used to calculate the amount of desired reactant or product.
Moles of desired substance must be converted to the required units.
Explanation of Solution
Before buying a product it must be selected from the two selected products. Now different quality parameters must be compared. Costs must be compared before buying. Quality and cost ratio is very important to select the product before buying.
Thus it is clear that method of solving a stoichiometry problem is similar to a method used in a supermarket to compare two products.
