The process of synapsis and crossing over, and the reason for their occurrence during meiosis.

Introduction:

Meiosis is also known as reductional division. In this cell division the chromosome number is reduced by half and formation of four haploid daughter cells takes place. The haploid cells are formed after the DNA replication by two rounds of cell division: Meiosis I and Meiosis II.
