Speedy Swift is a package delivery service that serves the greater Atlanta, Georgia, metropolitan area. To maintain customer loyalty,
one of Speedy Swift's performance objectives is on-time delivery. To monitor its performance, each delivery is measured on the
following scale: early (package delivered before the promised time), on-time (package delivered within 15 minutes of the promised
time), late (package delivered more than 15 minutes past the promised time), or lost (package never delivered). Speedy Swift's
objective is to deliver 99% of all packages either early or on-time. Another objective is to never lose a package.

A credit card company deals with many hundreds of thousands of transactions everyweek. One of its measures of the quality of service it gives its customers is the dependabilitywith which it mails customers’ monthly accounts. The quality standard it sets itself is thataccounts should be mailed within two days of the ‘nominal post date’ which is specified to thecustomer. Every week the company samples 1,000 customer accounts and records the percentagewhich was not mailed within the standard time. When the process is working normally, only 2per cent of accounts are mailed outside the specified period, that is, 2 per cent are‘defective’Required:Find the control limits and interpret the process conformance.
An investigator wants to assess the association between caffeine consumption and impaired glucose tolerance, a precursor to diabetes. A study is planned to include seventy participants. Each participant will be surveyed with regard to their daily caffeine consumption. In addition, each participant will submit a blood sample which will be used to measure glucose level.
Identify the type of study proposed. Briefly explain why you think the study is of this type.
Indicate the study type's specific strengths and weaknesses.
Could the study describe be designed as a randomized clinical trial? If so, briefly outline the study design. If not, describe the barriers.

- Prof. Juan believes that one of the greatest challenges of remote teaching is ensuring that students can self-direct their learning. Prof. Juan would like to know if majority of his students carry out their own study plan. Although Prof. Juan was able to provide a calendar of tasks, he thinks that there must be some other way to encourage his students to learn more independently. From the sample of 50 students, the estimated proportion of students who carry out their own study plan is 0.56 or 56% . In addition, there is 95% confidence that it is between 0.4125441 or 41.25% and 0.7000928 or 70.01%. Using the binomial exact test with a p-value equal to 0.2399, it can be said that there is _______ evidence that the proportion of students who carry out their own study plan is ____________Therefore, __________ of the students are able to self-direct their learning. You want to determine which intervention works best to build self-esteem for youth in your program. Currently youth are in one of three intervention modes - (1) group counseling, (2) individual counseling and (3) a group and individual combo. Because of time constraints, you are only able to measure self-esteem at one point in time. You use a standardized multi item self-esteem scale to evaluate their level of self-esteem after 8 weeks of the intervention. Which statistical test would you use? Suppose a clinical psychologist sets out to look at the role of economic hardship in relationship longevity. She decides to measure marital satisfaction in a group of couples living above the poverty level and a group of couples living below the poverty level. She chooses the Marital Satisfaction Inventory, because it refers to “partner” and “relationship” rather than “spouse” and “marriage,” which makes it useful for research with both traditional and nontraditional couples. Higher scores on the Marital Satisfaction Inventory indicate greater satisfaction. There is one score per couple.
