Chapter 9, Problem 2RQ
Summary Introduction
To define:
The terms mitosis and cytokinesis. Also, to determine the change that would take place in a cell if mitosis is not followed by cytokinesis.
Introduction:
Mitosis and cytokinesis are phases of cell cycle. Cell cycle refers to the events that take place in a cell that leads to cell division. The cell cycle consists of three phases; interphase, M phase (mitotic phase), and cytokinesis. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) replication also takes place during the cell cycle.

Distinguish between mitosis and cytokinesis. What are the results of each?
Even though cytokinesis is included with Mitosis, we generally consider it to be its own phase. Why?
by the time cytokinesis occurs, the cell has already split
by the time cytokinesis occurs, the cytoplasm has already split
by the time cytokinesis occurs, the nucleus has already split
by the time cytokinesis occurs, the cell has copied all of its chromosomes
What is the difference between mitosis and cytokinesis?
