Introduction:

Antimicrobial agents are described as the substances that have the ability to destroy or inhibit microbial growth. Antimicrobial agents used in the treatment of helminthic, protozoan, fungal and viral diseases are grouped as anthelminthic, antiprotozoal, antifungal, and antiviral drugs, respectively. The aim of antimicrobial strategies is to find “new targets in the microbial cell” and “custom-designing antimicrobials”.
