Introduction:

DNA probe is a biotechnological tool and is a single-stranded DNA segment, complementary to the sequence of the gene of interest. The desired sequenceislabeled witha detectable marker such as radioisotopes, biotin, and fluorophores to enable detection. DNA probes are synthesized using various methods. Sometimes DNA probes are developed based on the amino acid sequence of the protein encoded by the gene and are also called as gene probes.
