Introduction: The identification of a firearm involves the identification of a weapon, bullets, cartridge, along with the gunpowder residues on garments and wounds on target. The markings on the bullet from the test and the suspect’s gun could be linked to the crime scene. Gunpowder residues can be identified and compared using a microscope based on the color, shapes and sizes on the garments.
