Concept Introduction:

The number of moles of a gas n is equal to the ratio of the amount of gas m present in the container to the molar mass M of that gas.

The ideal gas law dictates the behavior of all ideal gases. It states that the pressure P and volume V of a gas is directly proportional to the number of moles n present in the gas and the temperature T of the gas.
