Constant pointer:

When a pointer itself a constant such that value that pointer holds can be changed, whereas the address the pointer variable hold cannot be changed is called as a constant pointer.

Usage of pointer parameters as constant pointers:

When a function uses a pointer parameter, modifications are restricted for the value that is passed as argument. So, it is necessary to declare the pointer parameters as constant pointers using “const” keyword.
