To determine:
Why the creation as well as the use of the tetraploid carp species are less desirable.
Introduction:
Controlling the overgrowth of aquatic vegetation by herbicides is an important issue in maintaining the public as well as private waterways. The diploid grass carp have been introduced in a state in the year 1963 to consume the vegetation. But they reproduced at an enormous rate. Several states are started using the triploid grass carp in the 1980. Triploid grass carp are considered as an alternative because of high sterility level and life span (seven to ten years). At present, many states are in need of permission to use triploid grass carp for controlling vegetation. Moreover, their containment is required in the water bodies to which they are introduced. In the future, the use of genetically modified organisms can help to achieve the required specific outcomes for human needs.
