Introduction:
Addiction is a chronic and complex disease that affects the function of the human brain and results in serious damage to relationships, families, neighborhoods, and workplace.
Explanation of Solution
Steroid is a common drug abuse among athletes in professional sports. Some athletes use steroids to enhance muscle strength and mass and reduce body fat. For athletes, steroid promotes muscle building and deeper voice. This may boost their performance. It is neither validates nor invalidates the performance of athletes. The following are the negative effects of using steroids:
- Increased aggressiveness
- Abnormal criminal and sexual behavior
- Withdrawal of steroid my lead to depression and suicide behavior
- Low sperm count
- Shrinking of the testicles
- Impotence
The performance enhancing drugs are always risky. Many sports companies prohibit these drugs even though; the drugs may appear to achieve physical gains.
