The lower extremities help in supporting the body and are essential for walking, normal standing and running. It contains thirty bones that include femur, tibia, fibula, tarsal, metatarsal and phalanges. The shaft of the femur is attached to the leg which has two bones tibia and fibula that fuse at the shaft region and attach to the foot through ligament and talus bone.
