To determine:

The phenotype and phenotypic proportion are present in the cross of ${\text{F}}_{\text{1}}$ generation with plants that have heart shaped leaves

Introduction:

In cucumbers, heart-shaped leaves $\text{(hl)}$ is recessive to normal leaves $\left(\text{Hl}\right)$ and they bear lot of fruits spines $\left(\text{ns}\right)$, that is recessive to few fruit spines $\left(\text{Ns}\right)\text{.}$

Both the genes for leaf shape and number of spines are present on the same chromosome; after performing mapping experiment this will indicate that there are 32.6 map units apart. A cucumber plant having heart-shaped leaves and many spines is crossed with a plant that is homozygous for normal leaves and few spines
