There are different types of bones present in human body based on the shape and size. Bones are one-third of connective tissue forming the main support framework of the body. The unique shape of each bone fulfills a particular need. Basically six types of bone present are long bone, short bone, flat bone, irregular bones, pneumatic bones and sesamoid bone. Each bone is very important in the protection of outer and inner part of the body. Flat bones have two parallel layers of compact bone with a layer of spongy bone.
