Summary Introduction

To sketch: The diagram of a reflex pathway shows the release of glucagon in response to decreased levels of blood glucose levels.

Introduction: The glucagon is released by the alpha cells of the pancreas when the concentration of glucose (or insulin) becomes too low. The glucagon converts the stored form of glucose (glycogen) to be available to the cells in the form of active glucose. The increase in the concentration of glucose also increases the level of insulin in the body.
