Introduction:

The Calvin cycle during photosynthesis involves the capturing of carbon from atmospheric carbon dioxide by using the energy of sunlight harnessed during light reactions. Calvin cycle starts and ends with the same five carbon molecule, ribulose bisphosphate (RuBP). This metabolic cycle is accompanied by carbon fixation, generation of glyceraldehydes-3-phosphate, and the regeneration of RuBP that facilitates the cycle to continue. Enzymes and energy carriers actively take part in the reaction of photosynthesis.
