Introduction:
Chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments of photosystem II absorb light that energies and ejects an electron from a reaction center “chlorophyll a molecule”. Carotenoids help plants in photosynthesis and protect them from photodamage. Some examples of carotenoids are beta-carotene and lycopene. They are present in the stem, leaves, fruits, and other parts of the plant.
