Introduction:

There are a total of six functions that are performed by the skin. The skin is comprised of several layers and the thickness of the skin also varies in distinct regions of the human body. The layers of the skin are comprised of several different kinds of cells and each cell has its own dedicated function. The skin is the primary barrier that protects the human body.
