Introduction:
Keratinocytes are present in the innermost layer of the epidermis. They contain keratin protein, filaggrin protein, and proteases.
The function of keratinocytes are:
- Forming a skin barrier against pathogen, bacteria, and viruses.
- Acting as chemokines, they attract leukocytes at a point of microbial invasion.
