Introduction:

Fatty acids are considered as long hydrocarbon chains and the presence of a terminal carboxyl group. The fatty acids are present in saturated and unsaturated forms. Saturated fatty acids include single carbon-carbon bonds whereas unsaturated fatty acids have carbon-carbon double bonds. Fatty acids are produced by the breakdown of triglycerides or fats.
