Summary Introduction

To determine:

The reason that the fat soluble drugs are more suitable for transdermal administration than the water soluble drugs.

Introduction:

Transdermal administration is the method in which the drugs to be administered are introduced through the dermal layer. The drugs have to move through the plasma membrane of the epidermal cells to reach the site of action. The plasma membranes are composed of the lipid bilayer which only permeates the hydrophobic molecules through it.
