To describe: The energy transformations that occur when a person climbs to the top of a stairway.
Introduction:
The capacity to cause a change is known as energy. The change in the form of the energy is known as transformation of the energy. These forms are used to perform work, for example, movement of an object against an opposing force such as lifting a heavy weight against the gravitational force.
Explanation of Solution
When an individual is climbing a stairway the stored chemical energy from the food is converted into kinetic energy. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion that takes the form of “muscle movement”. After reaching at the top of stairway some of stored energy is transformed into “potential energy” because of the raised location.
Potential energy is stored kinetic energy. Some amount of energy is converted into heat during the transformation of energy. These are some of the energy transformations occurring when an individual climbs to the top of a stairway.
