Obesity is the condition in which the person’s BMI exceeds above the desirable weight which cause negative effect on the body. So the individual is considered as obese. Obesity occurs due to deposition of excess fat in adipose tissue than the normal required quantity.

Your 54-year-old patient is 5’10, 246lbs. His BMI (body mass index) is 30.5, which puts him in the obese range. He has a family history of heart disease and colon cancer. His doctor measured his blood pressure and it is higher than normal for someone his age and gender. His doctor has advised him to maintain a healthier lifestyle to reduce his risk of complications as he gets older.
