Concept explainers
Interpretation:
Among the given options, the binary ionic compound that has a name which includes a Roman numeral has to be chosen.
Concept Introduction:
An ionic compound has two elements one is metal and another one is non-metal. The metal ion has always positive charge and the non-metal ion has always negative ion called binary compounds.
Example:
Depending upon the chemical circumstances metal atoms able to form more than one type of ion is called variable charge metal.
Example – Fe forms
If variable charge metal atom is there in ionic compound and the naming can be done by using Roman numerals.
