Introduction:
The gravitational pull of the Moon and the Sun causes tides. The gravitational force of Sun is stronger than that of Moon but due to its far distance, the effect is weaker. The tidal force of the Moon is larger than the Sun. High tides occur at the equator and low tides at the higher latitudes. The tidal range is the difference between high and low tides, which varies over a 2-week cycle almost.
