Summary Introduction

To analyze:

A woman with type A blood can have a healthy baby with type B blood. Whether the baby develops hemolytic disease of the newborn.

Introduction:

Haemolytic disease of the newborn or Erythroblastosis fetalis is a condition wherein the red blood cells of the baby gets damaged which is caused due to the Rh incompatibility of the mother's blood type and child's blood type.

Rh factor is one of the antigens found on the surface of the red blood cells and its presence defines a blood type as Rh-positive and its absence defines a blood type as Rh-negative.
