Introduction:

Hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN) or the Rh disease as it is commonly called is caused due to the mismatch of blood types in between a baby and its mother. Mostly the second baby having a mismatch of blood type from that of the mother is prone to this disease. However, medications like RhoGAM are available for treating the condition in both baby and mother.
