Concept explainers
What two controls on a car cause a change in speed? What control causes only a change in velocity?
The two controls of car cause change in speed and velocity.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Speed defines how fast is the object moving. By expressing only magnitude speed of an object is measured. Velocity defines how fast an object is moving along with the direction. It means velocity has both magnitude as well as direction.
In a car there are three controls which controls speed and velocity. Gas paddle increases the speed of car. Brake is used to decrease the speed. While the velocity of car can be controlled by changing the direction which is done by steering wheel.
Conclusion:
Three controls are gas pedal, brakes and steering wheel control the cars speed and velocity.
