Introduction:

Heat fixation is a procedure, which is involved in preparing a microbial specimen for staining to view under a microscope. It is a process of applying heat over the air-dried specimen in order to facilitate the attachment of the microbes on the slide. The heat fixed specimens are then subjected to the staining procedure to identify the specific type of microbes.
