To tell:
Why do scientists use metric units rather than English units.
Introduction:
Units are the standards that are used for the measurement of the physical quantities of an object. The unit of measurement should be smaller than the object that is going to be measured. This is facilitated by the usage of metric units.
Explanation of Solution
It is difficult to measure the microbes even with smaller units such as inches. In order to work with units that are simpler and standard usage, scientists used the metric units for measurement of the microbes. The metric system is a decimal system, unlike the English system. In this system, each unit is one-tenth of the size to that of the next largest unit. The extremely small things are measured easily using the metric units rather than using the fractions involved in the English system.
The fact behind the usage of metric units by the scientists is explained.

- I'm confused on how to convert the numbers into a number. For example the first one is: '3.42 L' would I just write it as '342'? Then I'm also confused to what would I write it as for scientific notation. Same thing for problem B, would the number just be written as 138? And for the scientific notation wouldnt it go back 4 places so it would be '1380.' ?arrow_forwardExplain how to convert one unit to another in metric systemarrow_forwardIs it possible to conduct an experiment without following the scientific method?arrow_forward
