Introduction:
The armyworm larvae feeding on corn plants deposit their frass or waste in the gaps present where the corn leaves are connected to the stem by stalks. The frass releases certain chemicals which send signals to make the plant aware that it is under attack and allows the plant to mount a defense against the armyworms.
