Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The pancreas secretes many substances inside the small intestine that are involved in the digestion of food. The chyme, through the intestine move towards the duodenum. Once it reaches inside the duodenum, it produces two hormones termed as cholecystokinin and secretin. The cholecystokinin (CCK) is involved in the stimulation of the pancreas to produce digestive enzymes inside the intestine. It is involved in the breakdown of macromolecules, contraction of the gallbladder, and also involved in the sphincter relaxation. While the secretin is involved in the production of bicarbonate to neutralize the acidity of the chyme.
