Introduction:

Polyploidy is the condition in which there are more than one set of chromosomes present in the organism. The causes of polyploidy can be non-disjunction of homologous chromosomes, failure of cytokinesis, or hybridization. Hybridization is the mating of organisms that belong to two different species and produces sterile or in some rare cases fertile offspring.
