Introduction:

The diploid organisms produce the haploid gametes through the process known as the meiosis. The meiosis results in reducing the chromosomal content of the cells. The daughter cell produced by the meiosis consists of half the chromosomal sets of parents. The gametes fuse by the process of fertilization and lead to the production of diploid, single-celled zygote.
