The therapeutic relationship to be established in order to ease him while discussing the intimate aspects of his life after determining Mr. C’s sexual orientation.

Case summary:

Mr. C is a 65-year-old African-American patient who is married and lives with his wife. Recently Mr. C is diagnosed with MI (myocardial infarction) and currently on telemetry nursing unit. Mr. C medical record states that he had and hypertension and he had been prescribed with propranolol (Inderal). His blood pressure reveals 122/82 mm Hg and he is taking his medicines regularly. The patient who takes antihypertensive drugs will experience sexual dysfunction. On speaking with Mr. C, the nurse finds out that Mr. C wanted to have a sexual relationship with his spouse.
