To differentiate: the types of receptors located on the target cell surface and the nucleus along with examples of hormones that mediate action through each receptor type.

Introduction: Hormones are members of chemical signaling molecules, produced by endocrine glands, transported through the blood to distant target organs to regulate behavioral, physiology and metabolic changes in an organism. Receptors are structures made of protein that receive and transduce signals. There are two types of receptors cytosolic and nuclear receptors specific to the type of hormone molecules.
