Introduction:

The cell wall is the layer present outside the cell membrane of the cells of the bacteria, fungi, and plants. The cell wall of the plants is made up of cellulose and lignin, whereas the cell wall of most fungi contain chitin. Chitin is a structural polysaccharide made up of large polymer N-acetylglucosamine (NAG) residues. It is found in the exoskeletons of insects, fungus cell walls, and certain structures in invertebrates and fish.
