Concept explainers
To describe:
Ecological footprint and biocapacity and their interrelation.
Introduction:
Ecological footprint measure the ecological demand of an individual such as how much an individual can consume and how much the individual can generate the waste.
Biocapacity is the capacity of land and sea area to generate a constant supply of renewable
Accounting unit for both is global hectares; if the ecological footprint of a human population exceeds the biocapacity then the environment will be unsustainable.
The interrelation between is ecological deficits occurs when the ecological footprint of the population exceeds the biocapacity of the area available to that population.

- A conceptual model representing the role, interaction, reaction, and density of essential ecosystem components is shown below. Examine the model and the relationships between the major players (i.e., predator, prey, producer). The structure's most important role is played by these major players. It's also worth noting that nutrition has been included in the model. This is the abiotic component that has a direct or indirect impact on the interaction.
