Concept explainers
The difference between the mass of an object and the object’s weight.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Weight and mass of an object are not the same.
Mass is defined as a measure of the amount of matter contained in a physical object. Weight is a measure of how strongly gravity pull on that matter. So, the weight is a force, and the mass is a measure of how much matter an object contains.
Conclusion:
The weight is a force, and the mass is a measure of how much matter an object contains.
