Behaviors that have an objective to cause harm or pain is known as aggression. This type of behavior occurs when individuals compete for the same resources for example food, territory, water or mates. This type of behavior is also known as competitive behaviors.

Explanation of Solution

Animal sacrificing themselves for their siblings in a competitive battle with a predator have an evolutionary advantages. Animal may die in a competitive battle but by protecting it sibling they increases the chance of transmitting their gene pool to the next generation. Due to this chance of extinction of animal species decreases.
