Introduction:

Stomata are pores in leaf which are surrounded by guard cells that open and close to enable exchange of gas which is helpful in absorbing carbon dioxide gas for photosynthesis. It also reduces water loss and helps to keep the plant hydrated wherein the weather is hot or dry. Hence, when stomata are open transpiration rate increases and when it is closed, transpiration rate decreases.
