Introduction:
One of the remarkable functions of the cytoplasmic membrane is selective permeability. Depending upon the state of the cell, the nutrients are brought into the cell and the wastes are exported outside the cell. The passage of molecules inside and outside of the cell is under the control of the cytoplasmic membrane.
