Real gases have different properties than those of ideal gases. Ideal gases are assumed to have no intermolecular forces between them but such forces exist in real gases. Effect of intermolecular forces can be described by comparison of ideal gas behavior with that of real gases. Compression factor is used to measure deviations in behavior of gases.
